I’m driven by “relevant” as a value, both personally and professionally.
My hope is that Beachside is relevant to the people who attend. But lately I’ve been wondering how is Beachside relevant? My hope is that the teaching is relevant. Everyone knows that the music is amazing and the sense of worship is apparent. But is that enough?
If you’ve attended any of our weekend gatherings consider describing how Beachside is, or can be, relevant to the stereotypical outsider. Another way of saying it… Does what we do matter to a non believer?
Yes, Beachside is relevant! I’ve been in traditional Baptist churches my entire life and it is so refreshing to enter a place of worship surrounded by real people. Beachside feels like a place that is safe to be real. Yes the music is fun, but the lessons/sermons are even better. The lessons are simple yet deep. I appreciate Beachside and feel so blessed to have found it.

yea i would say the teachings are the most relevant part of beachside.
i know quite a few non believers that go there,so i would say yes what beachside does ,matters.
and they are not going there because its cool atleast i hope ,but because they are searching for a Truth to them that has real substance that has the fruit of the Spirit.a Truth that is so far from what american christianity has made.
almost as if america has created God in our own image.
i feel that the teachings are definately relevent and inspired by God
and also the worship.
though i wouldnt even listen to that style of music if i werent saved for i find it pretty cheesy.
and i really prefere other styles of worship music,i understand the importance of worship
its all about God

Yes! Beachside matters and has found the formula for being relevant and still different than the world. I think both believers & non-believers want worship & teaching to be real and true, to experience something better than the world has to offer, a spiritual experience, reverence for God. I have seen well-meaning churches give relevance such focus that it trumps Christ on the weekend eventually resulting in little growth & depth.
